Culinaris

This week we'll take a little break concerning specific international cuisine and we'll have an overview of what we have learned and what is yet to come. Naturally, I found the perfect shop for that occasion! Culinaris is located in the very heart of Budapest, in Balassi Bálint utca, a minute away from our beautiful Parliament building. The characteristic of this colorful food store is that it offers delicacies from almost every national cuisine. It can be very handy for a gastro-geek like me to find everything at the same place and not having to fish specific ingredients from different delis scattered around the city. Let us now get carried away with the diverse tastes of Culinaris!

Fish & Chips

This is probably the most popular food that you can get in England, and, luckily, it is also one of the cheapests. If you walk into an English diner or restaurant and ask for the good auld fish and chips, there's no way they don't have it. It is simple, tasty, and inevitably very easy to make if you want to cook a delicious English meal at home. No matter how and where you eat it: from a simple white plate in a crowded cafeteria or packaged in newspaper on a busy street, it always tastes sooooo English! The British Store

This shop is nothing like any other stores we have been examining before on this blog. It is not that big, not so fancy, and yet, it still very much deserves to be mentioned as the key part of my English week. The British Store is located in the XIIIth district of Budapest, in Tátra utca 26, and opens the magic storehouse of British delicacies to us.
